Circuits and Prototyping:
Today in class we learned about circuits and electricity. This was exciting as I have not done anything like this is years. I actually have never done a circuit so complex. I found that looking at my circuit sheets and trying to place everything it its place was extremely difficult. At the same time it was almost like a game where you get to decode. I feel that with some practice this might become enjoyable. But as with anything learned for the first time, it was difficult. It was hard not to become discouraged, as decoding this really looks like a foreign language, but I will say that with some help I got my light to blink. It was not blinking consistently, actually it was just once that I saw it blink but I could tell it wanted to blink again. |
So this black thing is actually called the 555 and it needs to be in the middle of the breadboard.

I think that with practice, this would not be so bad. Being that this was the first time I have ever really done anything like this I had a lot of difficulty. I really got confused how we were looking on at the 2 diagrams. I think that with one picture and the decoding sheet with all the symbols I would have an easier time with it. With the 2 diagrams I had trouble figuring our which one I should be looking at.

In the end my circuit actually blinked! This was exciting. Few students actually got their creations to regularly blink, Mine just blinked once but at least that was a little satisfying.
